Fine motor skills are being assessed with this month’s ‘Back to School’ routine. Stretch-n-Grow classes will help strengthen the hand muscles. This will be one of the focuses as Children practice the pincer movement, which will in turn help them to hold pens and pencils. With these exercises, practice and patience are required. But it is amazing to see the progress already! At our regular Coach Camps the coaches get to grips with what is expected from the children in our classes. By going trough all the routines and practicing the exercises. This is just one of the many areas of development that we cover at Stretch-n-Grow. Stretch-n-Grow builds fine motor skills through engaging, hands-on activities that develop precision and control in children’s movements. Our coaches lead targeted exercises that strengthen dexterity, including pincer grasp practice to improve their ability to hold pens and pencils.
Children follow structured routines that enhance hand and finger strength, ensuring they develop the coordination needed for everyday tasks like writing, buttoning clothes, and using utensils. Stretch-n-Grow seamlessly integrates these exercises into fun, interactive sessions, keeping children motivated while reinforcing essential developmental milestones. Additionally, the programme empowers nursery staff with the tools and techniques to further support children’s motor skill development.
