Healthy eating message failing to get across as numbers of people eating five-a-day falls. he message of healthy eating is still not getting across with new figures showing the number of people eating their five-a-day has fallen across all ages ranges since 2008.
Fewer than one in 10 teenagers achieve the recommended fruit and vegetable intake and only around one in three adults, the National Diet and Nutrition Survey by Public Health England found.
The survey also showed that people are still eating too much sugar and fat, and men are eating too much processed, and red, meat.
Most of the population do know that meeting your five-a-day is important, however if you are unable to afford them it makes it really difficult to implement this recommendation.
