What We Learn in Stretch-n-Grow!
Stretch-n-Grow’s children’s fitness classes aren’t just about jumping and stretching—Our classes help children grow strong, smart and kind in lots of ways! Here’s how our classes help them learn and feel awesome about themselves:
1. Moving Our Bodies
We run, jump, balance, and stretch to make our muscles strong and our bodies healthy. This helps us do everyday things like writing, tying shoes, and getting dressed all by ourselves!
2. Being Kind and Brave
We play together, take turns, and cheer each other on. We learn how to talk about our feelings and feel proud when we try something new—even if it’s tricky!
3. Talking and Listening
Our teachers tell fun stories and use silly words like “wiggle like a worm!” We listen carefully and learn new words to help us talk and share ideas.
4. Reading and Writing
We get cool informative handouts with pictures and words. We follow along from left to right and learn sounds that help us read and write like big kids!
5. Counting and Numbers
We count our jumps, sort colourful props, and clap to the beat. That helps us learn numbers, patterns, and how to solve little puzzles.
6. Learning About the World
Sometimes we pretend to travel to new places or celebrate special days. We learn about different people, foods, and traditions from around the world!
7. Being Creative
We dance like dinosaurs, tiptoe like fairies, and use music and props to make up fun stories. It’s like being in our own show!
