Testimonials and what people say about what we do at Stretch-n-Grow.
I have worked with Stretch-n-Grow since October and I have loved every second of it. Running around pretending to be a dinosaur has to be one of my favourite moments but I am sure my favourite routine will change within the next couple of months as we get ready for the Olympic routines.
As an athlete myself I aspire to be an Olympian and to have the opportunity to pass on my passion for the Olympics is truly an exciting time for me.
The Olympics are renowned for inspiring the world to participate in sport, yet unfortunately the majority won’t sustain their participation. However, Stretch-n-Grow is a unique programme it shows that everyone can enjoy physical activity and the enjoyment that the children portray in my lessons suggests that they will continue to participate and love exercising.

Ofsted Approves!
Children benefit from tutored physical activities, such as ‘Stretch and Grow’ movement to music. They match up down gracefully, doing flying movements and mimicking train movements whilst stood on small circle mats. The lead tutor dramatises the repertoire to engage children’s interest and make it more enjoyable and children beam with delight whilst engaging in exercise. As children move and hop alternatively on each foot to fast pacing music their hearts beat faster. The tutor encourages children to touch their hearts to feel the difference of the heart beats after exercise and talk about the changes in their bodies when they exercise.
Hi There,
I just wanted to put it in writing what a great job you all do with Stretch & Grow and how we all enjoy every session here at Trafalgar Day Nursery.
Every session is filled with activities that not only teach children about exercise but about themselves as a whole. It is also great how each activity is linked to the EYFS as this really helps all the staff in their observations of their key children. As you know my daughter also attends the nursery and is in the pre-school room and so I get to see the results of the stretch & grow sessions every week! My daughter is 3yrs old and already knows which day is Stretch & grow day, being excited about you all coming and telling me she will be doing her ‘exercises’! As a Manager & a Parent, it is with real pleasure that I say Thank you for all you do and please keep up the great work!!Kind Regards,
Emma Miller
Nursery Manager and parent! We have been using Stretch and Grow at our Nursery for a couple of years now, and the children absolutely love it! We have had excellent feedback from our parents about how the children sing songs and re-enact scenarios they have learned in Stretch and Grow at home. It improves their vocabulary, develops their imagination and also allows them to let off steam and express themselves. Tina (our stretch and grow coach) is amazing with the children and has struck up a fantastic bond with them; they can’t wait to get started when they see her setting up the room ready to start the session! Her enthusiasm and bubbly nature is what makes these sessions so lovely, the children really get involved and have fun – all the while learning about benefits of exercise and being active. I would highly recommend Stretch and Grow to every childcare setting and we will continue to use them for many years to come.

That the young children can name their muscles never ceases to bemuse and amaze me and my parents! ‘It made me laugh when Max came home and told me the names of some of his muscles such as maximus gluteus – I wondered where he got it all from!’
Max has been attending the classes for the past two years, since he was two-years-old. ‘There are a plethora of classes around now that are aimed at children. This one grabbed our attention because it involves exercise overlaid with healthy information. It’s very reassuring to know he’s having fun and getting some exercise. Now when Max is messing around in the garden he will start doing his aerobics and yoga poses.
‘There is so much exposure to unhealthy food for children, what with all the adverts targeted at them and restaurants that rarely have anything on offer other than sausage and chips and fizzy drinks. This is a counter balance for him and I’ve noticed that Max doesn’t want to eat the horrible sugary cereals aimed at children. He says, “That’s not healthy food is it?”. When I offer him an apple he says that it is healthy food. He has a bit of understanding of what is good for him and what isn’t so that’s positive. He now says that he likes vegetables, especially carrots and broccoli. He has a broad level of understanding.’

I have a four year old, Christopher, Stretch-n-Grow has had a huge impact on his eating habits and he’s become a ‘vegaholic’. He especially loves beans and carrots and now sees sweets as just a treat food. He can look at his dinner plate and know if he’s having a healthy meal. Christopher enjoyed the weekly Stretch-n-Grow sessions held at his nursery so much that I, enrolled him in a standalone class.
He particularly has a lot of fun doing the exercises. I think it’s because of the combination of movement with music, such as the bean bag boogie. There are a lot of action songs – he’ll be pretending to be an elephant and working his quads at the same time. A by-product of the classes is that they have increased Christopher’s confidence. I remember his first class and he was a shy little boy who didn’t say a word. ‘Now he’ll go up to the class teacher and tell her what he’s been up to all week.’
Because Christopher has got to know about healthy eating and exercise at such an early age I think it has become a part of him and will now stick with him for life. There are not many young children who know as much as he does about the body, it’s quite extraordinary.’

Feedback from Parties in Farnborough….
Just wanted to say thank you for doing such a fantastic job this morning. Given how excited James has been over the last few months, I thought you were going to be popular but I would never have guessed it would have been as good as that.
(Jamie’s dad)
Thank you so much for your efforts today at James’s party. How you kept hold of the attention of three year olds for a whole hour is impressive, bearing in mind the noise in the room. I think your trick is to keep giving them different things to hold. In forty years of teaching I am sure I never managed more than thirty minutes with such young children. It is such a fun way to get children to become physically active. It was a brilliant session and we can only say thank you once again.
