Five key measures have been used to rank children’s health – child mortality, obesity, hospital admissions for mental health and alcohol, and tooth decay. Blackpool has the unhealthiest children in England.
Child mortality

When we averaged out these five indicators, Blackpool came out the worst in the whole of England out of 151 councils.
The seaside town was well down on all five, but it did particularly badly on child mortality.
For every 100,000 children in Blackpool, 18.7 of them died between 2012 and 2014. This compares to 12 per 100,000 in England. More
